April 4

Get ready to schmooze and palooze at this year’s Schmoozapalooza! This yearly networking event is the perfect time for you to impress future employers, make valuable connections in your industry, and eat free food. Make sure you bring a few copies of your resume, some business cards, and a little bit of charm. Who knows, you could get a job or internship offer! This free event will be in Burwell Parlors from 4:30-6:30. Don’t forget to reserve your spot at www.queens.edu/schmooza.

April 8

Celebrate the accomplishments of your fellow Queens students at the 12th Annual Marking Excellence Event. Students from all majors will be presenting their hard work in front of a crowd of their supporters. Learn about someone’s capstone project, hear a reading from a creative writer, or read a poster on a topic you know nothing about. Whatever the case, come out and support your friends and peers. You might learn something! This event is during Common Hour (10:40-11:40).

April 11

Do you like sharks? Are you interested in minimalism? How about really weird, quirky plays? If you answered yes (or no) to any of these questions, you definitely need to go see “Swimming in the Shallows.” The young actors and actresses of Queens University will be putting on this production in Trexler Courtyard at 6:30 p.m., which does make it hard to miss. But why would you want to? Our theatrical friends have worked incredibly hard this year to bring “Swimming in the Shallows” to a courtyard near you. BYOP (bring your own popcorn) and enjoy.

April 15

Every Spring, Queens hosts the annual Spring Awards Convocation to celebrate the accomplishments of your peers. A tradition at Queens, this event celebrates the scholastic and academic achievements of students for the whole school year. As one of her last appearances as president of the university, Pamela Davies will extend her congratulations to each award recipient. Don’t miss out on this Queens tradition! Spring Convocation will take place in the Levine Center at 10:40 a.m.

April 18

Get ready to party hard with the bard(s) of Queens at this year’s Signet Release Party. Hear from some of our most talented undergrads as they read their best fiction, nonfiction, and poems. The magazine also includes visual art and photography pieces. Show up early and get a free copy of this year’s issue! The party will be in the Duke Energy Auditorium at 7:00 p.m.
