Pipe backup spews sewage into now-closed Lion’s Den

On Friday, April 24, a pipe blockage in the underground sanitary sewer line between Morrison Hall and Wellesley Avenue created a backup into the Lion’s Den, causing damage so extensive that the on-campus restaurant will not be open for the rest of the semester, said Bill Nichols, vice president for campus planning and services.

“The carpet was ruined and some wood wall paneling was damaged,” he said via email.

According to an April 27 RexText, though, students studying for final exams will still have access to post-dinner hour food. Young Dining Hall will serve select Lion’s Den menu items from 7:30-10:30 p.m. during exam week.
