As the weekend comes to an end, Queens students’ last chance to catch the spring play is this Sunday, March 29 at 2 p.m. in Hadley Theatre.
This semester’s theatre production, Fuenteovejuna, is based on a story about a village of people whose new leader is expected to be a beacon of good leadership. To the surprise of the village people, their new leader turns out to be a lot more than they expected.
A cast of about 20 students and many others, including writers, stage management, lighting, sound, and stagecraft have worked together in efforts to produce an exceptional play for almost three months now.
So, what can be expected from Fuenteovejuna?
“The overall feeling of the play is dramatic, but there is so much comedic relief placed throughout the acts, especially with my character,” said junior Jonathan Smith.“The audience can definitely expect to be entertained because even we have so much fun while rehearsing.”
Tickets can be purchased online or at the door for $5.50 per student and $11 to the general public. The last showing starts at 2 p.m. this Sunday. Don’t miss the chance to enjoy the last play of the year!
