Nobel Prize winner to visit Queens

On March 21, Liberian Nobel Prize winner Leymah Gbowee will be speaking in Dana Auditorium. Gbowee’s visit to Queens will center on “No Backpack Day,” an organization started at Blythe Elementary by student, Mongai Fankam, in efforts to raise awareness of Cameroon children who do not have backpacks. The 2011 Nobel Prize winner will be accompanied by Johnson C. Smith student and motivational speaker, Mpumi Nobiva.

The event will take place at 11 a.m. and doors will open at 10:30.
