Students to host immigration forum

Students in HONR 220 Politics of Immigration are partnering with the Levine Museum of the New South to host a forum on immigration at the museum, 200 E. 7th Street, Charlotte, on April 13 from 2-3:30 p.m.

The forum, titled “Your Voice, Your Community,” will feature five speakers. They are Astrid Chirinos of the Latin American Chamber of Commerce; Cynthia Aziz, immigration attorney; Javier Diaz de Leon, consul general of the Mexican Consulate in Raleigh, N.C.; Elisa Benitez of the N.C. Dream Team; and Rebecca Carvajal from Communities in Schools and Garinger High School.

Refreshments will follow the event.

HONR 220, also labeled POLS 319, is taught by Dr. Margaret Commins of the political science department.
