Einstein Bagels opens to warm reception from students

Opening shortly after the the Levine Center for Wellness and Recreation and located in its student lounge, Einstein Bros Bagels is Queens’ newest place for students to eat and study on campus.

Einstein Bros has a “nice, clean, welcoming atmosphere that is warm and inviting every time I come,” says junior Megan Whishant.

Compared with the other options on campus, Einstein Bros is more expensive, but Whishant believes students should “try it if you haven’t, it’s worth every lion dollar.”

There has been speculations that the school doesn’t in need of Einstein Bros, seeing as how there is already a similar option in the coffee house with the same variety of foods. However, junior Jenny Failor disagrees.

“It is more expensive, (but) I will leave full unlike in the cafeteria,” she said. “I would rather eat here because the Lion’s Den is greasy and unhealthy and the Coffee House usually isn’t as fresh, so I think this is definitely the better option.”

Many students were excited about the smoothie shop promised by the University to be in the Levine Center and were disappointed and even angry about the Einstein Bros replacing that idea, but junior Somer Saunders had no such thoughts.

“Einstein Bagels completes the package of the Levine. It is a great center here, but the bagel place really just pulls it all together and really fits in here at Queens and completes the Levine Center.”
